Green House: Intentional Christian Community
A Little About Us: We are an intentional Christian community that has been in Jamaica Plain since 2003. We have four townhouses side by side that are connected by a large back deck. Most of community life happens inside individual house units, but we gather together as a whole community for a meal once a month.
House Details: a 3 story, 6-bedroom townhouse in JP. Shared: huge living room, office space/den, eat-in kitchen w/ 2 fridges, basement with free laundry & storage, 2.5 baths, bike shed, shared vegetable garden & compost and a large back deck.
Housemate Details: 1 married couple (With a 6 month old.), in their early 30s, both work for Christian non-profits, 1 single professional woman in her 30s working in housing and economic development. Among many other things, we enjoy dance parties, early 90s hip-hop, traveling, watching and playing sports, movies & game nights, pranks, lively discussion, playing music, reading, gardening & composting, and making and eating good food. We try to create a house environment that prioritizes creating safe spaces for communication, social justice, hospitality and generosity. We greatly value diversity both in terms of personality, culture, ethnicity and gender. We currently have two open rooms.
Neighborhood Details: Located right on Green Street in JP, a 2 min. walk to the orange line Green Street stop, restaurants and stores on Center Street. Right next to the Southwest Corridor bike path, Jamaica Pond, Arnold Arboretum and Franklin Park.
