The Renewal of Catholic Social Teaching in the Age of Pope Francis: What difference has Pope Francis made in church social teachings?

April 25, 2019 from 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Free

Social justice is a core component of the Catholic faith tradition but has not always been a core component of day to day teachings. In this conversation, we’ll explore how Pope Francis has sparked new discussions about social justice and what this means for the next generation of Catholic leaders in our society.

Join us for a conversation with Thomas Massaro, S.J., Professor of Moral Theology at Fordham University. His nine books and over 100 published articles are devoted to Catholic social teaching and its recommendations for public policies oriented to social justice, peace, worker rights and poverty alleviation.
