Engage Boston: UniteBoston’s Celebration of Worship
August 17 from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pmFree
We are excited to announce that we will be hosting a large summer worship gathering again this year on Saturday August 17th from 7:00 to 9:00pm in the Boston Common! We’re calling this year’s gathering Engage Boston: A Celebration of Worship because we want to celebrate how people are reaching across barriers and engaging one another with the love of Jesus. While many people today may have a negative view of Christianity, and Christians may often feel isolated and alone, we want to change that through coming together in a united celebration of worship. Through diverse music, song, dance, spoken word, and even painting, we can stand together for what the church is for: engaging our neighbor across barriers with unconditional love, joy, and fellowship.
In 2018, more than 1,000 people from throughout Greater Boston attended this event – Click on this link to see photos and a highlight video from last summer’s worship gathering.
Exciting Developments for This Year’s Worship Celebration
- This year, we have six directors who are coordinating different aspects of this worship gathering, including music performance, sound/tech, marketing, church connections, and more. These six directors are coordinating dozens of volunteers from a variety of local congregations and ministries. You can meet the people who are behind the scenes making this event happen here.
- We are also collaborating with Boston Pide Vida, a one-week missionary outreach that is mainly delivered through music and the arts allowing people to be drawn to Christ through unconventional ways of sharing the gospel. From August 10th-17th, 2019, both international and local Pide Vida missionaries will be going out to share the love of God in Boston and other cities by serving them in parks, streets, shelters, colleges and youth centers. If you want to serve and love your city, connect with Boston Pide Vida at email@example.com
As you can see, we are preparing for significant growth this year and would love to have you involved!
1. Endorse the Worship Night to your community:
We appreciate your help getting the word out to colleagues and congregation members through announcements, written endorsements, Facebook invites, and email newsletters. Click here to download a summary packet about this year’s worship gathering, and share with others.
2. Host a Table:
Hosting a table during the Celebration of Worship is a great opportunity to spread the word about your church or organization’s inspiring work. The cost for this is on a sliding scale based on the size of your organization; see the pricing options here.
3. Join our Volunteer Teams
An event like this requires all hands on deck! We’d love to have you involved on the church connection, event development, prayer/outreach, art, and sound/tech teams. Email Kelly to get involved!
This event requires a variety of resources, including supplies, equipment rentals, and food. This year, we dream of having quality projection and a stage so everyone can see the musicians and lyrics, which costs an additional $10,000. We would be honored if you would consider donating via Paypal or Facebook to help make this event successful.
Prayer makes a huge difference! We appreciate your prayers for smooth logistics, for unity among team members and attendees, for financial provision, and for strong communication and advocacy among the varied organization and church networks in our city.
